The novel coronaviruses belong to ß genus. COVID-19 is an acute respiratory infectious disease. People are generally susceptible.
Currently, the patients infected by the novel coronavirus are the main source of infection. Asymptomatic infected people can also be an infectious source. Based on the current epidemiological investigation, the incubation period is 1 to 14 days, mostly 3 to 7 days.
The main manifestations include fever, fatigue, and dry cough. Nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, myalgia, and diarrhoea are found in some cases. Mycoplasma pneumoniae is the causative agent of respiratory tract infectious diseases and complications of other systems. There will be a symptom with headache, fever, dry cough, and muscle pain.
People of all age groups can be infected while youth, middle-aged and children under 4 years old have a higher infection rate. 30% of the infected population may have a whole lung infection.
Coronaviruses are enveloped RNA viruses that are distributed broadly among humans, other mammals, and birds that cause respiratory, enteric, hepatic, and neurologic diseases.
1. Six coronaviruses species are known to cause human disease.
2. Four viruses – 229E, 0C43, NL63 and HKU1 are prevalent and typically cause common cold symptoms in immunocompetent individuals.
