TEST PRESENTATION
Serum free light chain (FLC) quantification is an effective tool in both diagnosis and monitoring, in conjunction with other laboratory and clinical findings (i.e. Serum Protein Electrophoresis, Serum and Urine Immunofixation etc…) for myeloma and related dyscrasias.
The sebia FLC Kappa & sebia FLC Lambda kits allow the measurement of kappa and lambda free light chains in human serum, either using a manual technique or a fully automated on the das AP22 ELITE ELISA processor. This test has been designed to overcome most of the proven analytical issues related to quantitative assays based on nephelometry/turbidimetry techniques (hook effect, high retest rate, short measuring range, lot-to-lot variability, etc…).
It also solves most of the overestimation shown by historical techniques, giving results with better coherence to the “gold standard” for M-spike quantification: Serum Protein Electrophoresis.
TEST PRINCIPLE: ELISA SIMPLIFIED!
The sebia FLC Kappa & sebia FLC Lambda kits are based on solid phase sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
- Ready-to-use Kappa and Lambda plates pre-coated with polyclonal anti-free light chains antibodies
- Reagents ready to use, concentrated wash buffer
- Imbedded instrument scheduler for optimized workflow
- Kappa, Lambda concentrations, as well as K/L ratio, automatically calculated by the instrument’s software
- Option to export final results to the LIS
- Patient’s results consolidation in the Phoresis 2 patient’s file*

- One master dilution for both Kappa and Lambda technique (1/1000)
- Single testing
- 1:15 of total incubation time
- Broad measurement range: 3 to 4 times less restesting than with the historical method
