Dubhaltach Mac Lochlainn
Head of National Metrology Laboratory, NSAI.
Dubhaltach Mac Lochlainn is Head of the NSAI, Ireland’s National Metrology Institute. He leads Ireland’s national measurement infrastructure, supporting industry, innovation, trade, and regulation through internationally recognised measurement standards and services. He is actively involved in European metrology research and policy initiatives and is a strong advocate for the role of measurement science in enabling quality, sustainability, digitalisation, and technological innovation.
Dubhaltach holds science and engineering qualifications from University of Galway, Atlantic Technological University, Technological University of Dublin and Dublin City University. He has worked in measurement and calibration roles for 25 years, specialising in temperature and humidity measurement. He has delivered training and consultancy on temperature mapping in his roles within the National Metrology Laboratory for over 10 years to medical device, pharmaceutical and laboratory staff.
