Temperature Calibration FAQs

What is temperature calibration and why is it important?

It is the process of comparing the readings of a temperature-measuring device. It’s important as it ensures confidence in the accuracy of temperature measurements, which is foundational to quality control, regulatory compliance and risk management.

What standards or accreditations support our calibration service?

Our temperature calibration is carried out in accordance with ISO 17025 Accreditation. This is an international standard that specifies the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. We also maintain Quality Management System ISO 9001: 2015.

What equipment can MSC calibrate?

We have the capability to calibrate monitoring probes of all monitoring systems (thermocouple, thermistors, PT1000, etc.). MSC can offer a single-point comparison calibration or a multi-point calibration of probes using Ametek drywell blocks.

How often should calibration be performed?

Temperature calibration of a unit should be performed at regular intervals determined by the customer’s accredited body.
